Levels: Undergraduate Main Campus Campus Lab Schedule Type Learning Objectives: The student will learn the importance of blend, balance, pitch, and rhythmic precision in a jazz ensemble. This course also provides a context for the history of jazz, the large jazz ensemble and serves to prepare future educators for the challenges they will face creating their own jazz programs in the future. Required Materials: A well-maintained instrument, mutes/doubles as required by the music. There is no text required for this course. Music will be assigned and checked out to the student.
